Yulia Malinina was born in 1980 in the city of Skhodnya, Moscow region.

From 2022 to the present, she has been a student at the Joseph Backstein Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA).

In 2007, she graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov (in the workshop of Tatyana Grigorievna Nazarenko, specializing in painting).

In 2001, she completed her studies at the Moscow State Academy of Arts in memory of 1905 (in the department of restoration of oil and tempera painting).

She has participated in more than seventy group exhibitions.

In 2014, she undertook an internship at the art residence Cite des Art in Paris, France. In 2007, she completed an internship in Germany at Berlin UDK (University of the Arts).
In 2007, she was awarded the gold medal by the Russian Academy of Arts for academic achievements.
In 2009, she received a medal for her services to the development of fine arts from the Moscow Union of Artists.
In 2016, she received the GRAND PRIX of the third International competition of architectural drawing ArchiGraphics, Tchoban Foundation.
In 2015, she was nominated for the Kandinsky Prize in the "Project of the Year" category (Long List). From 2011 to 2015, she taught at MGAHI named after V.I. Surikova.
In 2021 and 2023, she participated in the ART MOSCOW fair.

Her works are in the collection of the New Jerusalem Museum and Exhibition Complex, in the State Central Cinema Museum, and in the art collection of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are also in private collections in Russia, England, the USA, Germany, Italy, China, and other countries.
